So I got these blushes back in February and I have been using them fairly regularly from then until now and I'm still loving them! These are a very smooth and creamy formula and then glide on and blend on like butter, plus I LOVE their packing it's beyond cute!
Their are four colours in total but I only picked up two of them. The first colour I got was 03 Berry Pop and I knew I wanted this one right away. It's a beautiful medium toned pink colour and it gives your cheeks that perfect flush.
Hand Swatch look at the pigment on this blush!
The other colour I picked up was 02 Peach Pop and like Berry Pop this is also a very bright tone. This one is more of a peachy coral and have a beautiful sparkle to it.
Hand swatch you can see just how pretty this coral colour is!
I've been telling myself for weeks to go out and grab the other two colours and just haven't gotten around to doing it yet but I still plan to. I think these are defiantly worth the slightly higher price tag at $24.00 Canadian each.
I am in LOVE with this months Julep box! First off you can never have enough nudes but look at those amazing neons!!
Here are some closer shots of the whole collection:
Alright let's start with the Hand and Cuticle cream. This really is a wonder product for me, it's helps soften the area around my nail and I had always had an issue with the little pieces of skin the pull up around the nail. Not anymore!
I also love the stick format because it makes it so easy to apply and it doesn't get all over my fingers which can be more sensitive then the area right around my nails.
COLOR TIME!!!
Our first color combo is Boho Glam and that came with Fiona and Teresa. The first thing I thought when I saw Fiona was Shrek! It's a stunning bright green.
Next we have American Beauty which has Bethany and Mindy. Bethany is bright orange creme color, it really pops and if you put it on-top of Mindy which is a very pale pink it really pops.
Bombshell has the most amazing Purple color called Bette and a beautiful everyday color called Ava. It's a perfect pink colour, just perfect!
When I looked at these two colors I knew that they were the Classic With A Twist combo. They both scream it, LOUD! The pink neon is called Madison and it's a bright pink creme and the nude is Grace a very ice light pink. The only thing I don't like is Grace is really sheer, maybe too sheer to wear on it's own.
It Girl is my usual style and it came with two neons and one nude and I really wasn't too impressed with this set! Nikki is the highlighter yellow shade and it's really not very pretty to be honest! I like Ameila but I find it has almost to much of a shine to it, but the saving grace of this set was Nina. It's a orangesicle creme color that I have a feeling I will wear all summer! It reminds me a lot of Parker another color I LOVE!
So when I was out at Shopper's Drug Mart I saw the display for these and had to pick some of them up!
These lip colours are so bright and full pigmented and on top of that they are moisturizing, they are made with honey nectar. I get about 3 to 4 hours of wear with these but they do wear off if I eat or drink.
#865 FUCHSIA FLASH
This is a very bright hot pink colour! The shade would work on every skin tone cause it is just a straight pink it doesn't pull blue or orange. This is my favourite shade from the new line!
#875 VIVID ROSE
This colour looks exactly like what it is called. It's a reddish hue but pulls kind of pink when swatched. This is the perfect red colour if you want to try a red but are worried about how it will look on you. The pink in this will make it look good on almost all skin tones!
#895 ON FIRE RED
This is your classic red shade, it's deep and a pure beautiful red shade. I use it as an everyday lip colour but for anyone who isn't as bold you can try taking your finger and just patting it onto the lips. This will give a much softer affect.
#900 HOT PLUM
This shade is a hot pink with a purple hue, it's bright and very in your face. It's a very close match for MAC's Candy YumYum but a little more purple.
So everyone knows that a HOT PINK lips is hands down my favorite type of lip and one of my friends challenged me to find 5 Hot Pink Lipsticks that I could love that were not MAC. In all honesty this was not easy for me because when I do a hot pink lip I always reach for my MAC, it took some time but I found 5 that I am really happy with. And then just for fun I added my top 5 favorite Pink MAC lipsticks!
If you know of any other really good hot pink lipsticks please tell me about them!
Moxie: This is a Matte finish and comes off to me as a bright reddish pink. It's so smooth to apply and I find it gives great color pay off and has a long wear time.
Impassioned: This is an Amplified finish and is one of my favorite bright colors to wear. It is a fuchsia color which I find compliments most skin tones.
Pink Nouveau: This is a Satin finish which makes it very creamy and easy to apply. It's a true medium pink with amazing color pay off. I LOVE THIS LIPSTICK!
Candy Yum Yum: This is the one lipstick I don't think I will ever stop talking about! MAC hit a home run when they came up with this amazing NEON pink hue. Don't be scared when you first see it because I can't lie it looks crazy but for whatever reason once you get it on, it's just stunning!
L'Oreal 145 Fearless Fuchsia: This is the pinker of the two L'Oreal fuchsia lipsticks I own. It has no sparkle or shimmer in it at all. The one thing I love about these lipsticks is they go on so smooth and they last for hours!
Guerlaine 165: This is the most sheer of all of my favorite pink lipsticks. It has a nice pink color to it but needs to be re-applied throughout the day. I use this when I want the bright pink lip without too much in your face!
Makeup Forever 36: I said it in the video and I'll say it again, these lipsticks are more drying but the color they give is just amazing! This color is very close to Candy Yum Yum but I find it's a bit deeper pink color.
L'Oreal 138 Forever Fuchsia: This is the lipstick out of the two that has some shimmer in it as well as more of a purple tone.
Wet and Wild 966 Don't Blink Pink: For a $3 lipstick this one is AMAZING! The pink is bright and the formula is long lasting and I didn't notice much feathering or bleeding! Great drug store choice for a bright lipstick.
Viva Glam Nicki: This is a Satin finish and is a very pretty coral pink color. It's not as true pink as some of the other but I had to add it in cause it's a beautiful color in itself.
Girl About Town: This is an Amplified finish and it is a very nice dark pink color. It stains like CRAZY so you have been warned! I wear this more at night because I find the color very dark for a day look. It doesn't look too dark in this photo but I applied it with my finger to blend it out more.
If that wasn't enough pink for one day go check out the video!
So with back to school around the corner and with some of you already being back I know most are looking for great products for less money. As most of you know my go to makeup for the most part is high end but I rediscovered something this month that I forgot I loved as much as I do.
NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss is truly an amazing lip gloss for less. You can get these on their website for $5.50 which is an incredible buy if you ask me. The prices for these vary in store and I know at my look grocery store where they sell NYX these cost $8.99 which in all honesty is still an amazing deal. A MAC Lip Glass has 0.17 oz of product and sells for $15.00 (that's the US pricing but it's $18.00 Canadian!) and in the NYX gloss you are getting 0.53 oz of product, that is 3 times the product.
In using these lip glosses I find the formula to be smooth and very pigmented, it's not sticky though and there for doesn't last very long. I get about two to three hours of wear before some fading occurs but I like reapplying my lip gloss so it doesn't bother me. They also have a very nice smell, it's very sweet, it almost smells like starburst candy to me.
I've listed my absolute favorite colors from this line as well as pictures and swatches below, hope you enjoy!
159 Smokey Look is a peachy coral color with a slight hint of sparkle but it's not over whelming.
112 Frosted Beige is a beautiful beige color with lots of shimmer!
158 La La is a really bright pink color with shimmer in it. This really makes the lips pop! This one also smells a little more on the berry side to me and not as sweet as the others.
111 Lollipop is a coral orange color with lots of shimmer.
129 Beige is anything but beige! It is the prettiest medium pink color and has no shimmer in it at all!
Out of all of the above colors my most worn two are Beige, which I am on my second tube of and La La. Hope this post was informative and if you have any colors of this collection that you love that I didn't talk about please post them in the comments, I'd love to try them!
So I have had a love over some of the colours from L'Oreal's lipstick lines but have never been able to convince myself to buy one, well today that day has come! I was in the US picking up some packages and I decided to stop by Walgreen's seeing as we don't have one in the Vancouver area and they were having a sale buy one get one 50% off so how could I not pick some up.
I got two different formula's the Colour Richie and Infallible and so far I am find that the Infallible is very smooth and has a slight sheen to it. Different from the Colour Richie because it seems to be more dry when I applied them both on my lips and on my arms for the swatches.
Here are the Colours and pictures!
121 Perennial Pink:
138 Forever Fuchsia:
145 Fearless Fuchsia:
479 Coral Seduction:
And the swatches!
121, 145, 138, 479
350 British Red (Top) and 410 Volcanic (Bottom)
So overall I do like these lipsticks there's nothing amazing about them and if the colours I thought I'd love (if you have seen the ad for L'Oreal Colour Richie 410 Volcanic, it looks like she is wearing the most amazing orange colour) didn't turn out to be as amazing as I thought they would. Will I use these? Of course, they are easy to apply and photograph very well but I was left wanting more! More colour that is!
